Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!
Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer – aim for a dozen new people each time – and return comments. This group is all about connecting!
Every month, we announce a question that members can answer in their IWSG post. These questions may prompt you to share advice, insight, a personal experience, or story. Include your answer to the question in your IWSG post or let it inspire your post if you are struggling with something to say.
Remember, the question is optional!
July 6 question – If you could live in any book world, which one would you choose?
It is probably the obvious answer and one that many will say, but Harry Potter is the world I would choose. Magic, trains, and creatures! There is a magic that was created by J. K. Rowling. Wands and the costumes. Even the great hall and the food is something I would want to indulge in.
I have always been that person that would have loved to have gone to boarding school. I am sure I have it romanticized, but the idea of focusing on learning, reading, and writing is enticing. I think this is why the MFA has appealed to me over the last decade. I believe I would have thrived in that environment.
I loved undergrad and the feeling of being on a campus. My grad school was online so did not capture the same types of feelings.
I am living in a college town again so maybe I can get myself into some classes and recreate that feeling again.
How would you answer the question?
